Alabama is a Right-to-Work state. My state, Michigan, is one where the laws tend to favor unionists and labor unions, even at the expense or detriment of the individual who desires to work and to be employed. Mackinac Center analyzes the differences, especially as to the contrast of the Midwestern state’s myth that the Southern states are backward when at least in one respect (probably among many) Alabama could be said to be more advanced than Michigan.
