Brady Harrington was the Republican incumbent and under suspicion for shady dealings regarding a house/property purchased with his office’s money/resources.

Brady Harrington, the Republican drain commissioner in that county who is seeking re-election, has taken heat recently for allowing a public employee to live in a house purchased, renovated and maintained, in part, by the drainage district. Harrington has defended his decision, saying the property needed someone on site for security. The employee lived there for nearly three years rent-free.

“Once the district has made that investment,” he said, “it’s my responsibility to protect that investment.”

I daresay he is corrupt and if not in general, then that particular action is one of corruption. I will assess that later.

Michael Atayan is the victorious Democrat candidate.

Richard Wagner was the challenger in the Republican Primary in August 2008. He obviously lost there and not content with the results (and why should he be) he ran a write-in campaign for November. That Republican lost as well and not unexpectedly.

Ah, Google.
