VDH sees no defeat in Iraq
There’s no reason to run.
Any visitor to Iraq can see that the American military cannot be defeated there, but also is puzzled over exactly how we could win — victory being defined as fostering a stable Iraqi constitutional state analogous to, say, Turkey.
How do we put in place a situation where the bad guys fear our side and our morality more than they fear that whom they see as god?
How much do we have to hammer them before they give up their morality?
Anyway, my philosophies on war aside, the military historian VDH points out how war is never static and things can to continue in our favor in Iraq.
