Lions beat the Bears and the Bears are assigned the win
My Twitter shall illustrate my feelings on the manner. (ReTweets help. What I know about professional football could fit in a thimble).
RT stephenasmith That call against Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions is one of the worse calls I’ve seen in NFL History. It should be overturned and the 4:51 PM Sep 12th via Twitter for BlackBerry® Retweeted by you and 100+ others

RT heidithorne @PlannerWire Kinda feel sorry for #Lions. So I guess best #Bears offense is a ref’s technicality call? Ha! Have a great week ahead! 5:35 PM Sep 12th via HootSuite in reply to PlannerWire Retweeted by you
To sum it up easily, Calvin Johnson caught the ball, which would normally indicate a touchdown. Since the rules were invoked so as to inflict harm to the Lions the Bears would not have won the game without the officials’ meddling and they needed a special call to have the game given to them as a pity-gift. I normally say all the rules should be enforced equally and then re-wrote if the rules are stupid. In this case the rule needs to be ignored and should have been ignored considering the immense technicalities raised to call catch something that was not a catch. This rule should not have been invoked; the rulebook needs to be rewritten, preferably before the next game (fat chance); the game should retroactively granted to the Lions.
No true Bears fan should be proud of this game. He or she should be ashamed.
